Three days of great weather and a motivated group of pilots and judges completed the contest in the time allocated between available daylight, an airshow and exhaustion.

It was also the first time that Glider Aerobatics were flown in a Contest in Canada. We had two of our pilots fly the same sailplane, albeit at separate times in and amongst the Sportsman flights.

Best First Time Competitor was Daryl Purdie from Aerobatics Canada Chapter 3.

Many thanks to the folks from Stateside whose presence made the Contest a success. And also thanks to the staff we worked with at CFB Borden. They did an outstanding job accommodating our contest.

Our next contest in Southern Ontario, the 2001 CanAm, co-hosted with IAC Chapter 88 in Michigan, will be held at Hanover-Saugeen Municipal Airport on August 24, 25 and 26. Information on the contest will be on our website www.aerobaticscanada.org hopefully by June 15th.

    Regards
    Chris Pulley – Contest Director
