    *Collegiate Program Competitors

We here at Chapter One have been have our Heuer Classic at Aurora Airport (ARR) for now 5 years. It's a Fed tower. FSDO has been sending out people every year to check us out. We also have Doug Partl, IAC Tech to straighten them out if needed. We really haven't had any problems with our waiver. The "Box" sits right next to 2 runways. The runways stay open even. This year EAA 579 had a Young Eagle Day on Sunday and flew 125 kids as we flew a full round of competition. How's that for cooperation, Tower, EAA and IAC!!!

Twenty-six pilots made it to Aurora through some of the worst looking weather in weeks for the Chicago area. In spite of a late start, we had an excellent contest. The flying was consistently very good and we made a good (VERY good) impression on some important (VERY important) guests.

The rumor that Steve Johnson got a ticket in Morris for going through a traffic light on red... while in his Pitts getting to the contest… is just that, a rumor. (Might have been started by the CD.)
